As someone who is from a country that knows a thing or two about how to play a football or two, I just want to say that my heart goes to England for his heartbreaking loss on Sunday. CBS was obviously feeling the same way, but they decided to be more proactive about turning all those frowns on their heads. On Monday, the network not only published its program for autumn 2021. Oh no! CBS published its program offer for autumn 2021 together with thumbnails for the US remake of the amusing British comedy series Ghostly With Rose McIver (Me, zombie) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (Harvey girls forever!) play the new owners of a country estate that is inhabited by a diverse group of deceased residents. Over in the BCTV offices, I can confirm that there are at least three fans of the original series who are literally counting the days to its debut. It’s actually pretty touching. Unfortunately the waiting time will be a little longer Ghosts will not appear on screens until Thursday, October 7th. But to cut the time, enjoy these impressive thumbnails:
[Ed. Note: Actually very excited to see how this goes; McIver and Ambudkar show signs of early strong chemistry and the ensemble is a nice mix of personality types]
“Ghosts” is a one-camera comedy about Samantha (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), a cheerful freelance journalist and aspiring city cook who throw caution and money to the wind when they decide to make a huge one to convert rundown estate they inherited into a bed and breakfast – only to find it is inhabited by the many ghosts of deceased residents who now call it home. The deceased souls are a close-knit, eclectic group that includes a cheeky lounge singer from the prohibition era, a pompous militiaman from the 18th century, a clever financial brother from the 90s, a sarcastic and funny native from the 16th century and a Society wife and wife of a 19th century robber baron who is Samantha’s ancestor, to name a few. If the ghosts have been concerned about the excitement a renovation and B&B will cause in their home, it is nothing compared to the fact that Samantha is the first person alive who can see and hear her.
Ghosts Stars Rose McIver as Samantha, Utkarsh Ambudkar as Jay, Danielle Pinnock as Alberta, Brandon Scott Jones as Isaac, Richie Moriarty as Pete, Asher Grodman as Trevor, Sheila Carrasco as a flower, Roman Saragossa as Sasappis, Devan Chandler Long as Thorfinn, and Rebecca Wisocky as Hetty.
