TRAVIS COUNTY, TX – General Elections will be held in several Travis County’s public places, such as cities, schools, and counties, on May 1.

What are the most important dates?
The last day to register for the vote was Thursday April 1st.
Early voting starts on Monday April 19 and ends on Tuesday April 27.
If you are voting by postal vote, your request for postal voting must be received by Tuesday, April 20 (without postmark). Postal voting documents must be received by Saturday, May 1st.
Election day is Saturday the 1st
Am I registered to vote?
You can check the Texas Secretary of State’s website HERE to see if you are registered to vote. You will need some basic information, such as your name, date of birth, and country, in order to check your status.
Here’s what to bring to the polls.
State law stipulates that registered voters must present one of seven ID cards in order to be able to vote in person at a polling station. They include:
- Texas driver’s license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety
- Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
- Texas identity card issued by DPS
- Texas Handgun License, issued by DPS
- US military ID with photo of the person
- US Citizenship Certificate with the person’s photo
- United States passport
Can I vote by post?
The state of Texas only allows registered voters to cast a postal vote under certain circumstances. To vote by mail in Texas, you must meet one of the following requirements:
- Be 65 years of age or older
- to be disabled
- be on election day and during the deadline for early voting by appearing in person from the group
- be in jail but otherwise eligible
