JUAREZ, Mexico (border report) – Juarez authorities are investigating the deaths of two migrant women this week.

Police found the decomposed body of a woman believed to be from Ecuador early Thursday in an abandoned motel in the Zaragoza area of ​​east Juarez. The woman had identification papers with her, but the police did not make her name. The cause of death is still being investigated.

Also on Thursday, two men entered a bar on Gomez Morin Avenue and fired at least 20 bullets at one of the bartenders who killed them. The police identified the victim on Friday only by her first name Gabriela, 30 years old and a Venezuelan citizen.

The head of the Crimes Against Women Division of the Chihuahua State Police Department said the woman was an employee of the bar in Rioje where the shooting took place and that some of the shots were aimed at her head.

The motive of the shooting is still being investigated. No arrests were made.
