All-Star Week continues as the 2021 class volleyball players take to the pitch one last time before venturing into other avenues of their lives. The first InkByrd Designs Volleyball All-Star Game is on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. as the senior volleyball players compete in their final high school game, which is where it all started for many of them at the main boys and girls club.

Each team has a number of players well known in Gateway City who have led their teams to a postseason berth. The teams are led by two coaches who helped overcome a playoff drought, Esmeralda Peinado from Cigarroa and Aide Rodriguez from Martin. The Lady Toros traveled into the postseason to break a seven-year playoff drought, while Rodriguez qualified the Lady Tigers for the first time in 14 years.

The West All-Stars are led by Rodriguez. The team consists of Alexanders Alexa Cavazos, Rebekah Bustamante and Kayra Guajardo, Cigarroas Emily Lara, Wesslie Hernandez, Roxy Camarillo and Ashely Navarro, LBJs Melanie Cardenas, Martins Trishelle Fuentes, Uniteds Lorena Contreras and United South and Michelle Chave Her.

Peinado holds the reins of the East All-Stars and will have the opportunity to coach five Lady Toros including Joselina Rodriguez, Kayla Lara, Kelsey Seca, Victoria Melendez and Leslie Cortez. The team also has the services of LBJs Brianna Gutierrez and Emilia Fernandez, Martins Yulissa Hernandez and Andrea Castillo, Nixons Rosa Cavazos, Uniteds Tina Trevino and Axielys Santos, and United Souths Jackie and Jocelyn Moreno.
