Raven SR expands into Europe with the creation of Raven Iberia, a wholly owned subsidiary in Spain

PINEDALE, Wyo., March 7, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Raven SR Inc. (Raven SR), a renewable fuels company, today announced the formation of Raven SR Iberia, SL, a wholly owned subsidiary, in Zaragoza, the capital of the Aragon region Spain.

Raven SR Iberia expands the company’s global footprint into the European market, where renewable hydrogen is actively pursued to achieve decarbonization and net-zero goals in transportation, power generation and industry.

Raven SR’s Spanish subsidiary will initially be managed by Carmen font, Management Advisor to Raven SR in the EU. A former corporate banker, Font has also worked as a commercial and financial advisor at the British Consulate General in London Barcelona and led the investment team for the regional government of Aragon. As a representative of Raven SR, she is currently leading several working groups within the European Hydrogen Valleys Partnership, which has been integrated by 56 European regions to bring hydrogen to the market.

“By combining our scalable renewable fuel production technology with Carmen’s in-depth knowledge of EU policy, regulation and industry, we can benefit from the goal of rapidly bringing hydrogen to multiple markets Europe and beyond,” said the CEO of Raven SR Matt Murdock. “Raven SR can help deliver what policymakers around the world are seeking: actionable solutions to mitigate the climate crisis with advanced renewable energy.”

The European Union actively supports the use of hydrogen as a key source of renewable energy to meet decarbonization targets and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Raven SR is part of the Hy2Market pilot action and European consortium related to Interregional Financial Instrument for Innovation Investments I3which aims to support the commercialization and scale-up of inter-regional European innovation projects and investments through the development of European hydrogen value chains.

Raven SR Iberia will also expand the Aragonese government’s position as a technology leader in the production and widespread use of hydrogen as a renewable energy source. The region’s hydrogen valleys—geographical areas that combine multiple hydrogen applications into an ecosystem to pilot projects along the value chain—are being harnessed to make renewable energy available at competitive prices.

“This project is in line with the government of Aragon’s vision to develop and implement new technologies related to hydrogen and can contribute significantly to the ambitious European decarbonization targets,” he said Arturo Aliaga, Vice President and Minister of Industry, Competitiveness and Business Development of the Regional Government of Aragon and President of the Hydrogen Foundation in Aragon. “We are pleased to support Raven SR in the development of its Aragón site, which will also contribute very positively to the region’s economy and job creation. The Government of Aragon has been supporting and promoting H2 initiatives in Aragon for over two decades and, to a large extent, the region has become the perfect gateway for the European H2 market, the development of scalable H2 projects and H2 investments. We are happy to continue working with Raven SR and supporting his project in Aragón.”

Raven SR technology reduces emissions while producing more green hydrogen per tonne of waste than competing processes and is the world’s only zero-combustion waste-to-hydrogen process. Raven SR’s process can produce a variety of synthetic liquid fuels (diesel, Jet A, Mil-Spec, JP-8), additives and solvents (such as acetone, butanol, and naphtha), microturbine power, and sustainable aviation fuel.
