Merced PD stated that the Scion was traveling west on East Childs Avenue while the PG&E truck was traveling east. The Dodge driver was escorted to a nearby PG&E facility, officials said.

Officials said the Dodge driver was trying to make a left onto Kibby Road when the left front of the Scion collided with the right front of the pickup. What is a wrongful death request and how is it beneficial to survivors?

unjust death refers to the death of a person resulting from the negligence of another person. Surviving family members may bring a wrongful death claim against a party or entity whose negligent actions resulted in an accident resulting in death. This type of case looks for economic rather than economic damage to restore the survivors to health. While nothing can ever make things right again, it can be useful to the family who may be dealing with end-of-life medical expenses, funeral service bills, loss of future support, and other harm.

In California, the statute of limitations generally requires survivors to file a lawsuit in civil court no later than two years after the death of the close relative. If the family does not file the request before the statute of limitations expires, the court may dismiss the case and the survivors may lose the right to seek monetary compensation from the guilty party.
