the Rose McIver (Me, zombie) & Utkarsh Ambudkar (Harvey girls forever!) – with remake of the British comedy series Ghosts scared a year-round order for the broadcast season 2021-22. McIver and Ambudkar play the new owners of a country estate inhabited by a diverse group of deceased residents. “We are thrilled that this spirited new comedy has met with audiences and critics alike and is off to a great start,” said Thom Sherman, Senior Executive Vice President, Programming, CBS Entertainment. “We have loved ‘Ghosts’ since day one and thank the outstanding executive producers, cast and writers for bringing to life the bravest and most unique comedy you will find on television this season.”
GHOSTS is a one-camera comedy about Samantha (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), a cheerful freelance journalist and aspiring city cook who throw caution and money to the wind when they decide to do a huge shabby Convert the estate they inherited into a bed and breakfast – only to find it is inhabited by the many ghosts of deceased residents who now call it home.
The Departed Souls are a close-knit, eclectic group that includes a cheeky Prohibition-era lounge singer (Danielle Pinnock); a pompous 18th century militiaman (Brandon Scott Jones); a 1960s hippie who loves hallucinogens (Sheila Carrasco); an overly optimistic ’80s scout troop leader (Richie Moriarty); a cod-obsessed Viking explorer from 1009 (Devon Chandler Long); a chic ’90s financial brother (Asher Grodman); a sarcastic and witty 16th century native (Roman Saragossa); and a 19th-century civil society wife and wife of a robber baron who is Samantha’s ancestor (Rebecca Wisocky), to name a few. If the ghosts have been concerned about the excitement a renovation and B&B will cause in their home, it is nothing compared to the fact that Samantha is the first person alive who can see and hear her.
Ghosts Stars Rose McIver as Samantha, Utkarsh Ambudkar as Jay, Danielle Pinnock as Alberta, Brandon Scott Jones as Isaac, Richie Moriarty as Pete, Asher Grodman as Trevor, Sheila Carrasco as a flower, Roman Saragossa as Sasappis, Devan Chandler Long as Thorfinn, and Rebecca Wisocky as Hetty.
