Ghosts premiered on CBS and fared pretty well for the night. Many other programs ticked down the live TV ratings on Thursday, October 7th.
There are a few shows or specials that we don’t have to worry too much about. FOX had its first Thursday Night Football show in the fall of 2021, and it comes as no surprise that it was the best in both the demo and overall audience. It’s possible that the football that led many of the shows to be downside.
Coroner was the only series that had upsticks from both the demo and the general audience. I don’t think we have to worry too much about that. Season 4 has already been confirmed by CBC and there is no reason to believe that The CW will not acquire it.
The outpost was in the demo by 100% to 0.0 and the audience increased by 3% to 0.33 million. But that was the series finale.
Young Sheldon up, Ghosts fair, Gray is down in the live TV ratings
Young Sheldon was the only other show that got some upward sticks. The demo was the same as the demo of the previous season premiere and the total number of visitors increased by almost 2%. This bodes well for a future for the series, and it makes it clear that fans are still invested in the Sheldon Cooper story.
From then on, things went downhill for CBS. United States of Al Season 2 debuted compared to the previous premiere. That’s not too surprising, however, since the premiere was a series premiere. The downward sticks weren’t that bad, and they’re pretty fair for a Thursday night.
The two-part premiere of Ghosts was fair too. It debuted with 5.42 million viewers (from United States of Al easy) and a demo rating of 0.5. The audience dropped in the second episode, but the demo stayed stable. We need to see the show stabilize to see if the comedy gets a second season.
bull premiered from its previous season premiere. The show has postponed the nights so this is not surprising, but it was a worrying amount. In the demo it dropped 30% to 0.3. However, the 4.13 million viewers were the best for the time slot.
All TGIT was down too. We’re not too worried Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy. It is Big sky we’re keeping an eye on it right now. We have to see that this stabilizes quickly and holds up against it bull and Law & Order: Organized Crime.
Speaking of which Organised crime, it was down 25% in both the demo and the audience. Likewise, SVU was down 17% and 20%, respectively, in the demo and audience. It really looks like football played a role. But we’re not worried yet. SVU has already confirmed another season and we’ll see each other for sure Organised crime renewed if it wins the demo in the time slot.
