At CBS, the spook is just beginning. Last week, the network announced this new series ghosts would make for laughs for a second season. Not that there’s any reason to exorcise the show, considering the freshman hit has become the most-watched television comedy of the season, averaging 8.216 million viewers.
Adapted by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman from the British series of the same name, ghosts follows the young couple Sam and Jay, played by Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar, who inherit an old estate to open as a bed and breakfast, only to find they are roommates in a haunted house infested with ghosts. Only Sam can see and speak to them, but Jay does his best to support the resident spirits while being a good husband.
The show, which airs Thursdays at 9pm/8pm centrally on CBS as well as the Paramount+ platform, is currently being repeated following its 13th episode on January 20, in which an evil spirit (played by trusted comedian Matt Walsh) makes his Introduction. And there’s a whole second half of the season to look forward to ghosts Returning on February 24th.
But you don’t have to wait for a tease ghosts stories are yet to come.
