The winners of the first round of the Vax Nevada Days have been announced.
On July 8, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, Immunize Nevada, and other local and community leaders including Congressman Steve Horsford and CSN President Dr. Federico Zaragoza, her first round of winners known for the Vax Nevada Days.
Vax Days is a public health incentive program launched last month that offers cash prizes for children 12 and older who have received at least one COVID shot.
There are more than 200 vaccinated people aged 12 and over who have been selected as the winners of the first Vax Nevada Days. There were a few recipients who got to attend the reveal, but there were winners across the state who couldn’t make it. Winners will be announced every Thursday through August 26th when they announce the $ 1 million grand prize winners.
“State and local partners will continue to do everything possible to vaccinate everyone, including improving the accessibility and availability of vaccines,” said Governor Sisolak. “But tonight we got to celebrate a program that gives Nevada residents 5 million more reasons to get their chance – Vax Nevada Days!”
Below is a list of the names that were read during the event. There have been winners who have chosen not to have their names revealed or are still being contacted about their winnings.
The following are the winners announced during the event and the amounts they received: $ 5,000 college savings plan that can be used for any post-secondary education: Madeline S from Carson City, Mariano G. from Lovelock, Tsarin U. from Reno, Alexander S. from Las Vegas, Zachary S. from Las Vegas. For the $ 20,000 college savings plan to be used for any post-secondary education: Demian R from Las Vegas. For the $ 50,000 college savings plan to be used for any post-secondary education: Kiana B from Las Vegas.
Cash prizes announced included: The $ 25,000 winners: Lori B from Washoe Valley; Juan L from Las Vegas; the $ 50,000 Winner: Gerin T from Las Vegas; the $ 250,000 winner: Elizabeth A from North Las Vegas.
The next price announcement is planned for July 15th. To be eligible, Nevada residents must have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The draws will take place over the next seven days. The sooner the Nevadans are vaccinated, the more chances they have.
The Vax Nevada Days are an action by Immunize Nevada in partnership with the state of Nevada. Giveaways are sponsored by Immunize Nevada and made possible by funds from the Nevada State American Rescue Plan.
