Ethel worked at several banks in Weslaco, where she loved bank customers and employees. In 2006 she sold her home and moved to John Knox Village, where she enjoyed the company and friendship of everyone who lived there. She was especially grateful for the friendship and help she received from Andrea Treviño and her supervisors.
Ethel leaves a nephew, Andres William Stewart, who lives in Zaragoza, Spain, and two great nieces and a great-nephew and nephew, Alejandro Stewart, who lives in Tarragona, Spain. Her sister Mary Claire and brother William died before her.
A funeral service will be held in the Valley Memorial Gardens, Mission, followed by a memorial service in the John Knox Village Chapel on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 10:30 am.
