Chehali’s husband convicted of assaulting 15-year-olds in 2018

A Chehalis man charged with rape allegedly assaulting a 15-year-old boy in late 2018 has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of fourth degree assault.

Romero Filemon Zaragoza, 37, received the maximum sentence of 364 days in prison for gross misconduct charges with a credit of 65 days already served. Lewis County Superior Court passed the prison sentence as a two-year suspended sentence – meaning that instead of serving the remaining 299 days of his prison sentence, he can serve two years probation, but will be arrested again and forced to serve the 299 days in prison if his Probation violated

Charges against Filemon Zaragoza were first brought along with an arrest warrant in September 2019 after a 15-year-old victim reported that Filemon Zaragoza raped her between September and November 2018. He was arrested in February 2021.

In his written admission of guilt, the Filemon Zaragoza on 23.

Lewis County Superior Court approved a contactless order for the victim that will be in effect for the next five years.
