CBS launches the first game of its kind for Ghosts


CBS original ghoststhe #1 comedy on Paramount+, has expanded into the popular Metaverse.

CBS’ first step into the Metaverse began on July 21, 2022 with an immersive experience for fans of the CBS original comedy series ghosts. The experience is found in Decentraland, a leading next-generation Web3 gaming platform.

Developed in partnership with Web3 marketing agency CreativeDepartmint, the experience takes fans and their custom avatars on a journey through the series’ haunted Woodstone Mansion. There, they can solve puzzles, take on quests, and earn limited-edition collectible NFTs—all in celebration of ghostsreturning this fall for its second season.

ghosts is a single camera comedy about Samantha (Rose McIver, iZombie), a happy freelance journalist, and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar, Pitch perfect), an up-and-coming chef from the city. They throw both caution and money to the wind when they decide to convert a massive run-down country estate they inherited, Woodstone Mansion, into a bed and breakfast – only to find it is now home to the spirits of many of the departed residents referred to as.

The Departed Souls are a close-knit, eclectic group that includes a cheeky Prohibition-era lounge singer, Alberta (Danielle Pinnock); Isaac the 18ththCentury Forgotten Founding Father (Brandon Scott Jones); Flower, a ’60s hippie (Sheila Carrasco); Pete, an upbeat Boy Scout troop leader of the ’80s (Richie Moriarty); Thorfinn, a Viking warrior from 1009 (Devan Chandler Long); Trevor, the pantsless financial brother of the ’90s (Asher Grodman); Sasappis, a sarcastic and witty 16th-century native (Román Zaragoza); and Hetty, a woman of Victorian society and wife of a 19ththCentury robber barons (Rebecca Wisocky).

ghosts“Carefully created to reflect the actual sets of the series, Woodstone Mansion features delightful and surprising interactions with the series’ main characters, voiced by the series’ stars. There are more than 10 types of collectibles that fans can earn that unlock access and future experiences, like playing a piece of music on a virtual piano, cooking a dish that one of the characters will like, and more.

That ghosts game and NFTs are deployed on the zero-carbon Polygon network, the leading Ethereum decentralized scaling platform. 1,100 tokens of varying rarity are available for each character, giving fans the chance to own a piece of the comedy story.

That ghosts Metaverse Activation is part of CBS’ Summer of ghostsimmersive marketing campaign in honor of the “recently departed” season one and upcoming season two this fall. In-person events will be held in several cities throughout the summer to celebrate the characters. Each character is honored with distinctive “to die for” activations that bring their individual worlds and stories into the here and now with a variety of personal events, stunts and experiences.

Season 2 of ghosts will premiere on Thursday, September 29, 2022 on CBS. The entire first season is available to stream on-demand at Paramount+. The game will be accessible here through September website. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Lionsgate Television and BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions.
