(RTTNews) – BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) (BDX) announced Tuesday its decision to build a $ 200 million manufacturing facility in Zaragoza, Spain.
According to BD, the construction of the new plant in the city of Zaragoza for the manufacture of drug delivery devices is to begin at the end of 2021.
The plant will have an area of ââ8,000 square meters and will initially employ 150 people; by 2030 it will grow to 30,000 square meters and employ up to 600 people.
The new location represents part of a 1.2 billion investment over four years to improve BD’s manufacturing capacity and technology for prefillable syringes and advanced drug delivery systems as part of its 2025 growth strategy announced in December 2020.
BD currently has three production sites in Spain, including Fraga, an important production site for the injection devices for Covid-19 vaccination, San AgustÃn de Guadalix and Almaraz.
