After Zilker Theater Productions was absent from the pandemic last year, it is returning with another summer musical for its 62nd season. Small horror shop opens Friday evenings at the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave and runs every Thursday through Sunday through August 14th. Take part in a mechanical bull riding tournament
The first bowling alley, bar, bistro, arcade and the first mechanical bull meeting point – Bull & Bowl on West Sixth – are holding their big opening party on Friday evening. Show off your best rodeo skills and win prizes during the mechanical bull tournament, which is open to the public and has four separate rounds. Not a fan of getting tossed by a bucking Bronco? Play pickleball, drink for free
Outdoor Voices and Recess, a local pickleball paddle brand, are hosting a mini pickleball clinic in Bouldin Acres on Saturday and giving away goodie bags to the first 50 guests. Pick up some pieces of equipment from Outdoor Voices’ new sports collection at the pop-up shop and enjoy live music by Foxi Moxi at 1pm. Dogs are welcome – and drinks are free. Breakdance with DJ Mel
Ready to work up a sweat? While DJ Mel, creator of the Living Room Dance Party, plays tunes from Brownout, instructor Gabriel Mendez will be teaching breakdance in this virtual fitness class in Parque Zaragoza. Fitness in the Park is a summer series from the Austin Parks Foundation that features six unique workouts in some of Austin’s most popular parks, streamed live for attendees at home.
